Does it help to listen to music while studying?
Music is a part of everyone’s lives from advertisements to stores, whether they intend on listening to it or not.
Music is a powerful and everyday tool that brings people together. Listening to your favorite song naturally boosts your mood, eases your sadness, and makes you feel less anxious..
According to researchers of Stanford University School of Medicine, they analyzed that classical music actually trains the brain to pay closer attention. This shows that it will help you focus on your studies and that music has a positive effect on students.
Junior Arjun Patel says, “Music helps my concentration and encourages me to keep studying until I finish.”
However, Junior Kai Stanford disagrees. “Music is a distraction and keeps me away from studying because I like the song and I want to listen to it without doing something else,” he said.
For some students, music helps their concentration on their homework. On the other hand, some students suggest not to because it either distracts you or doesn’t benefit you at all.
When you do want to study with music try music similar to classic, with a focus on instrumentation instead of some flashy, strong lyrics because that might keep you more focused and not get distracted.
