An inclusive event proposed by our very own SGA: Freshmen Four Square happened this past Friday! This event is a fun and welcoming event allowing students to have fun and connect with friends.
Designed specifically for freshmen, this event centers around the classic playground game of four square! During the game, students have a chance to enjoy some friendly competition while enjoying free popsicles and a plethora of snacks.
Even if students weren’t interested in jumping into four square, they were still able to hang out with friends, watch others play, and just enjoy the refreshing and yummy treats.
By creating a positive and energetic environment, Freshmen Four Square encourages students to get involved and build school spirit.
Meera Kessler, a freshman member of SGA, and an organizer of this event shared her thoughts about the event.
“As a member of SGA, everyone is trying to come up with new ideas to satisfy the student body. Our main goal was to give freshmen a chance to have a break and live a little bit of nostalgia from elementary school with what was once the most competitive game, four square,” Kessler said.
Kyla Ardestani, a freshman who enjoyed Freshmen Foursquare shares experience.
“I was excited hearing that they were proposing an event just for freshmen and to be honest I just wanted to attend for the free snacks but playing four square was actually so fun!
“We hope that it makes freshmen feel more included and gives them something positive to look forward to during the week.”
Even though this event doesn’t take place at the beginning of the year, it is still important. By this point, many freshmen are dealing with heavier workloads, tests, and upcoming exams. Freshmen Four Square gives them a chance to step away from that stress, recharge, and spend time with others in a fun way.
