On October 24, Raleigh Charter High School students donated and sorted clothing for over 150 local children in the Raleigh Community. About 20 students helped collect clothes, set up advertisements, and sorted clothes for this drive for the Note In The Pocket Clothing Drive as their Community Work Day Activity.

The goal for the Raleigh Charter community work day was never just about sorting clothes, it was a mission to provide dignity. For a whole day, The Note in the Pocket team spent time organizing and inspecting every clothing item to make sure when children received it, they felt loved and respected.
To the students, it didn’t feel like a boring task or something that they were forced to do because they loved the idea that their actions will help out the Raleigh Community. “Raleigh Charter has always made sure our community was cared for,” said senior Pranav Aggarwal. Moments like these really give students a different perspective on their community and how they did something to help. As the day ends, students can leave, hands tired, knowing they made a good impact.
Before the sorting started, it took a lot of teamwork, time, collaboration, and planning to put this together not only by Raleigh Charter Highschool’s staff team, but also students involved in the Note in the Pocket. Teachers sorted students into three groups, Leadership, Creativity, and Logistics.
Leadership focused on directing and organization of the event, looking over the other 2 groups making sure everyone involved was doing their job. Creativity focused on engagement with the school to donate clothing for the event, setting up advertisements, making videos to spread word, and helping connect the school with the event. Finally, Logistics focused on finding dates for when things occurred like when advertisement, collecting, and sorting should start.
“Everyone doing their job made this whole thing easy.” said sophomore Savannah Foy. Each team had dedication and had their priorities straight which is what made this event simply fun to enjoy and get done.
Students were pushed to work hard from the start to the end, and at the end of the day it was for a meaningful cause. Everyone involved in the Note in the Pocket from the team members, to the people who donated clothes, to the kids who received them, each got what they wanted in a sense. Raleigh Charter High School has made a positive impact on the Raleigh Community once again.
