Raleigh Charter’s Men’s Varsity Soccer Team defeated Roxboro High School on their senior night on October 22. With nine seniors on the roster, the aim was to create a memorable evening for them, giving them one last chance to enjoy a special night before moving on to new opportunities and things!
The seniors on the team were Dillon Rickets, Dylan Henson, Shaurya Surve, Raq Nune, Isaac Perdomo, Kaden Atkinson, Levi Bercian-Villatoro, and Jackson Howering.

“Phoenix on three, ONE TWO THREE PHOENIX!” The team cheers before taking their places on the field. With cheers from the students and parents in the stands, and teammates on the bench, the team claims victory over Roxboro High School.
Following the 4-0 win, Coach Pete Anderson talked about the hard work and dedication that each of these seniors has put into this journey, whether it was sticking with the ball to the very end of every play, attending every practice, or working to earn the good grades needed to play.
Soccer plays a huge role in these guys’ lives, as most of them have been playing since they were little, and are looking to play in college. At this point, many of the boys on the team are like brothers, having played together for much of their high school careers.
The seniors’ greatness doesn’t end here; in the next game, they tied the #1 seed, Franklin Academy, and then defeated them a few games later! This was a major achievement, and the boys gave their all during the two 45-minute halves and 2 overtime sessions.
Let us never forget these seniors and what they have done to help our team!
