As spring comes to an end and we start getting ready for summer, we can look back at what flowers were popular this season.
According to the National Garden Bureau, some of the top flowers of 2026 were dahlias, penstemon, and ageratum. These flowers were common this spring and were used in gardens and arrangements. Some places people got flowers included Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, and the North Carolina Farmers Market.
One of Raleigh Charter’s community work days also followed this trend with the card making and flower arranging group. During the spring work day, they used many new and popular flowers. One flower that stood out was unicorn baby’s breath, which became popular online for its pastel colors and unique look compared to regular baby’s breath.
A couple of students who participated in the flower arranging community work day shared their favorite flowers to work with.
Sophia Lopez, a freshman, said, “My favorite flowers were unicorn baby’s breath. I loved all of the colors and how they looked in the bouquets.”
Lucy Ann Hefner, a freshman, said that her favorite flowers to arrange were tulips. “Tulips are one of my favorite flowers, so it was super fun to work with them.”
Overall, these flowers helped make spring colorful, and many students enjoyed working with them.
