As Raleigh Charter fall sports come to an end with winter sports beginning, volleyball season needs a recap.
With the season lasting almost two months, let’s rewind back to our best memories.
This year’s season was filled with growth, determination, and teamwork. The volleyball team often reflected on their physical and mental state.
Even off the court, the players had many team bonding sessions, like going out for ice cream, playing volleyball at Fletcher Park, and going to Panic Point together.
However, of course we can’t forget about our Volleyball Senior Night!
Our two seniors that were celebrated, Shelby Payne and Devyn Bulcholz, both got emotional on their last year of high school volleyball. The team honored them with outstanding leadership and dedication.
“I just know I’m gonna start crying, it’s the little things that get me,” said Shelby Payne, reminding us it’s the little moments that matter and stick with us.
Meera Kessler, a freshman on the team, expresses how she won’t just miss Shelby and Devyn as teammates and friends.
“Devyn and Shelby really set the bar high. Being a freshman is easier when you have people like them to look up to.”
Out of the team’s two big wins, the team’s proudest victory was against Triangle Math and Science Academy. Making senior night an extra memorable time for the team.
This year’s season might be finished, but with so many athletes returning, next year already looks just as promising. Hopefully, with even more wins in the book.
