RCHS Halloween costume contest. Witch costume won?

On Thursday, Oct 30,  Raleigh Charter High School held its annual Halloween costume contest.

During the costume contest, people dressed up as multiple characters and other costumes like stuffed animals, minions, swans, Coraline, and more.

Ultimately, the award for best costume went to the group of minions by the judges, which included Ms. Fatool, Mr. Elliston, Ms. Page, and Mr. Ashe.

The winners, seniors Mason Oelrich, Greyson Lesser, Mason Hefner, and Andrew Lim wore yellow shirts and hats, jean overalls with bananas in their pockets, and minion eye glasses. They also threw bananas at everyone during the contest.

Andrew Lim said, “I was really happy we won the contest because we put a lot of effort in.”

In second place, freshman Ethan Dee won as Venom. He made his costume by hand, and spent time on it.

Ethan said, “I enjoyed the costume contest, and I was super happy when I won second place. Making my Venom costume was so much fun, and this was my favorite spirit week day.”

In third place, freshmen Chloe Huang and Reese Nicholson won as white and black swans, wearing skirts with tights and putting their hair in elegant ballet buns with feathers. Their inspiration was their dance teams.

Reese Nicholson said, “I loved our outfits and that they represented that we do dance.”

The Halloween costume contest was a big hit at RCHS, and made our spirit week even more fun and enjoyable.
