Friendship and community
Some of these seniors are going to college with people that they have known for forever, and some seniors will be going to college without a background of friends at the university. Friends are such an essential part of your career, and going to college with people you already know and have a relationship with can take a lot of the stress that freshman year brings.
What do our seniors think this will be like?
A lot of RCHS seniors will be attending college at in-state schools like UNC Charlotte, and senior Vyomini Vabilisetty says, “I’m so excited to go to college with so many friends because it would mean that we all get to experience something great together, whatever that may mean. However, I’m also so excited to meet new people and gain new experiences. More specifically, for college, I’m excited to take classes specific to my major and attend social events.” Like Vabilisetty said, just because you already have a network of friends at the university, it doesn’t mean that you can’t make so many more.
There are a handful of RCHS seniors who will be attending colleges that no one else they know is going to attend. Senior Isabelle Thompson, who will be attending …. says, “I am really looking forward to going to college, as I know that it will bring so many great new opportunities, with new experiences and friendships. I already found a roommate, so I am so excited to build a relationship with her!” College brings a lot of new opportunities, no matter your background.
Final Thought
No matter where you go or what you are doing, friendship is important! So remember to be the friend you want to have and to be yourself!
